The Los Angeles Angels, established as an expansion team in 1961, have had various name changes and periods of success. The team, known as the Los Angeles Angels, California Angels, Anaheim Angels, and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at different points in its history, won its only World Series title in 2002. Key players in the team’s history include Rod Carew, Nolan Ryan, Tim Salmon, and Mike Trout. Trout, one of the standout players of his generation, has earned multiple Most Valuable Player awards and is a perennial All-Star.
